What Are Inspire’s Outpatient Behavioral Health Services?
Outpatient behavioral health care allows people to receive counseling and psychiatric support while continuing to live at home, attend school, work and care for their families. At Inspire, the process begins with listening. A clinician or prescribing professional learns what has been happening, what is most important to the client and what kind of support may be helpful. Together, the client and care team develop a plan that is understandable, practical and responsive to changing needs.
The purpose of care is not simply to reduce symptoms. It is to help people feel safer, strengthen coping and communication, improve daily functioning, build healthier relationships and reconnect with hope. For someone living with both mental health and substance use concerns, coordinated treatment can address the way those challenges influence one another. When medication may help, psychiatric evaluation and medication management can be integrated with therapy rather than treated as a separate journey.
Program goals are individualized. A child may work on emotional regulation and family communication; an adult may process trauma, reduce substance-related harm or manage depression; and a family may rebuild trust after a difficult season. Progress is reviewed collaboratively so care can continue, change in intensity or transition to community supports when appropriate.
How Inspire Works
- Reach out. Call or submit the appointment form. Staff will ask what kind of help you are seeking, the client’s age, preferred location or telehealth option, and basic insurance or payment information.
- Complete an intake. The team reviews immediate needs, relevant history, current concerns and any referral or court requirements. If another level of care is safer or more appropriate, staff will explain options and help identify next steps.
- Meet with the right professional. A therapist, counselor, psychiatric provider or other qualified team member completes the appropriate assessment and discusses recommendations in clear language.
- Build an individualized plan. The client and provider identify goals, visit frequency and services. With proper authorization, family members or other supports may be included when that would strengthen care.
- Review progress. Care is adjusted as needs change. The team coordinates counseling, psychiatric care, substance use services and referrals so clients are not left to navigate disconnected systems alone.
Services and Support Available
Individual counseling. One-to-one counseling offers a private, supportive place to work through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger, substance use, life transitions and other concerns. Clinicians build on each client’s strengths and pace the work with emotional and physical safety in mind.
Therapeutic groups. Groups help participants learn skills, practice new responses and connect with others who understand similar challenges. Topics and availability vary by location and may include coping skills, relapse prevention, anger management, family systems and co-occurring concerns.
Family counseling. Family sessions can improve communication, clarify boundaries, reduce conflict and help loved ones respond to stress or recovery with greater understanding. The goal is not to assign blame; it is to create safer patterns and shared tools for moving forward.
Psychiatric evaluations. A qualified psychiatric professional evaluates symptoms, history, functioning and treatment needs. Inspire serves clients age 7 and older, subject to clinical fit and provider availability, and explains recommendations so clients and caregivers can make informed decisions.
Medication management. When medication is part of the plan, prescribing professionals monitor benefits, side effects, safety and ongoing need. Medication decisions are individualized and are reviewed with the client or legal guardian.
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT). MAT combines FDA-approved medication with counseling and recovery support for certain opioid or alcohol use disorders. Depending on clinical need and current provider availability, options may include medications such as buprenorphine/naloxone or extended-release naltrexone.
Substance use and co-occurring care. Counseling can address substance use together with trauma, anxiety, depression or other mental health concerns. Integrated care helps clients understand patterns, reduce risk, strengthen recovery supports and build a plan that fits real life.
Batterer’s Intervention Program (BIP). Inspire’s Central Florida BIP is a 29-week program for men and women based on the Duluth Model. The program prioritizes victim safety while helping participants identify abusive behavior, understand its impact, practice nonviolent alternatives and take responsibility for change.
Telehealth. Virtual counseling may be available for eligible clients when clinically appropriate and permitted by licensing and payer requirements. Staff can help determine whether in-person care, telehealth or a combination is the best fit.
Who Can Benefit From Inspire’s Services?
Clients may be seeking voluntary treatment, following a healthcare recommendation or completing a court-related requirement. Inspire welcomes people across identities, backgrounds and family structures. Clinical eligibility, provider availability, state licensure, program rules and insurance requirements are reviewed during intake.
Common goals include feeling safer and more regulated, reducing anxiety or depression, processing trauma, improving family communication, supporting recovery, understanding medication options and building skills that remain useful long after treatment ends.
Why Choose Inspire Counseling & Support Center?
Our approach is trauma-informed, person-centered and culturally responsive. That means providers explain choices, protect dignity, invite collaboration and recognize that behavior often makes sense in the context of what a person has survived. Accountability and growth are supported without shame.
As part of The Transition House family of services, Inspire can connect clients to a broader network of recovery, residential, Veteran, housing and community supports when appropriate. Many insurance plans and self-pay options may be available; staff will verify benefits and explain anticipated costs before services begin.
